Fading ink: Japan’s ‘hand-carved’ tattoo masters fight to keep their art alive

I was interviewed by Oscar Holland from CNN in 2019.

At that time, I was about to fly to Canada to attend Calgary Tattoo Festival. Oscar had come from Narita airport directly to my studio and his photographer didn’t make it. That’s why the article doesn’t have my selfie but link to my Instagram.

Though it was a bit disappointing my parents were glad that I was interviewed by such a world famous media, anyway. Because tattoos are perceived negatively in Japan.
